Born in Newcastle, I have always been interested in arts and crafts whether it be taking paper tole classes in Bowmanville or drawing in the backyard. I studied for one year at Durham College receiving a certificate, with Honours, in Foundations in Art and Design. From there I went on to expand my art education at the University of Windsor, graduating in 2009 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Honours Visual Arts degree.
Majoring in painting at university, I worked large and abstract. working big is a rare opportunity, so I decided to take advantage of it while I had the space. Now that I am residing back in Newcastle, I will continue my practice of experimenting with mixed media and one day hopefully finding the space to work big again. Art is all things, and the fun of it for me is learning new mediums to advance my work. |
