A lifetime of experience initially as a prominent fashion photographer in New York & Toronto and later as a widely travelled director/producer has contributed in countless ways to his eye for detail, form and balance,
whether it results in a photograph, videotape production, watercolour study or creation in wood.
The recipient of numerous awards for production excellence, Robert has produced hundreds of projects
including The World Cup of Skiing shot on two continents, Ocean Reef shot beneath the surface of two
oceans, The Instant Gourmet series and more recently, The 5 Star Traveller series, featuring the best of
some of the most extraordinary destinations worldwide.
These experiences in countries from Africa and China to Europe, the Greek Islands and Mexico to Thailand
and Tobago (to name a few) have exposed him to some of the world’s most diverse art and cultures and
have undoubtedly had an impact on his unique approach to such a wide variety of creative forms.
Robert’s lifelong love of woodworking has become the current focus of his creative energy. He divides his
time between his woodworking studio in the village of Newcastle and a winter workshop in the Florida Keys.
The pieces you see in this Gallery were produced in his studios from both local and uncommon materials.
Some are strictly art forms, while others have more useful purposes. Hopefully, all provide pleasure.
Robert delights in sharing his experiences and interests with friends and fellow artisans who discover in his
well equipped wood studio a wide variety of specialty tools, interesting and exotic materials and most
importantly, an unwavering dedication to the continuing evolution of creativity in wood. |
