I am now in my 6th year of creating hand bags, which has been quite a journey.
On reflection I have seen the evolving of production skills, techniques, and an overall improvement that has brought OOps Bags to being truly hand made, not home made.
I have fortunately attained a faithful group of customers, who are ordering hand bags for each season. Referrals have become a significant percentage of my sales.
Bags have been bought for hostess gifts for many parts of the world. To date OOps Bags are carried by women in Kenya, South Africa, Australia, Paris, U.K, several Caribbean countries, through out the US, and of course most of the Provinces of Canada.
Juried craft shows around Ontario and All Sorts Gallery, Ottawa Street, Hamilton, Guelph Artisan Gallery, A Gift of Art Gallery – Newcastle, Ontario, Unique Creations – Niagara Falls, and my home studio has been the main retail locations.
OOps Bags are designed and produced individually. Created in wholesome fabrics or leather and stabilized to retain shape. Professional elements of purse feet, attractive handles, quality hand bag zippers, and a quilted water proof lining are the components that lends to the quality, and attractiveness of an OOps Bag.
Style, design, function and colour is conceptualized, in the pattern making stage, however at all stages of production the woman buying and using each hand bag is envisioned having joy in owing and using an OOps Bag.
The journey will continue as I bring visions of design and other accessories to life. However the promise of a quality product is always eminent. Handmade…not homemade…
