Born in Edmonton, Alberta and raised in Ontario, Patricia Lynn Bowman Kingsley has worked extensively as a civic leader and a small business owner.
Recently she launched a charities department of A.C.T. (Artists in Christian Testimony ~ Canada Incorporated, Canadian Charities Business Number 85272 2594 RR0001) with the intention of sharing a contemporary spin on historic biblical images interpreted on canvas. These images have been an encouragement to many in challenging circumstances in a wide variety of life and faith applications.
Patty currently resides in the GTA with her husband Dennis and two children. She accepts commission work and sells prints of most of her completed works via her website www. 180Art.com, or through personal contact via patty@180art.com
In her own words, "I paint because the very act alone gives me pleasure and if all else was lost to me, I would create. I paint because I carry a message of hope and encouragement to others and I love engaging folks in the message of the medium. I am a messenger, and visual art is the best storytelling tool I have. Whether I am painting traditional images of children and seniors or biblical images, my heart is the same. I want to tell a story in what I paint. For me, the crafting of the message is therapeutic, as is the message itself.
In addition to the visual arts Patty has also studied mime and is an accomplished singer/guitarist. Patty believes that her ultimate gift from God is creativity and applies that gifting to business and the arts alike.
