"In my work I incorporate my love of colour, value and bold composition. The beauty of
layering colours has always fascinated me. I lay down foundation colours side by side and then glaze colours over those to create the desired tonal values. This brings form and shape to my subjects. Light shining through, reflecting colours and developing distinct shadows are also main elements in the work.
Realism is the desired result but always leaving room for heightened colour expression and light. I enjoy bringing the viewer up close and personal to see the everyday larger than life." |
